IT Service Desk Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and service-minded IT Service Desk Technician to strengthen our international IT team. In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for IT within the business and play a key role in ensuring our colleagues can work efficiently and without disruption. You will operate in a modern Microsoft-based environment and have ample opportunities to grow your technical skills and responsibilities within a dynamic, international organization.

This position is ideal for someone with a few years of experience in IT support who enjoys troubleshooting, working with people, and continuously improving IT services.

As an IT Service Desk Technician, you will be responsible for the following tasks and duties:

  • Providing first- and second-line support for hardware, software, and system-related issues, both on-site and remotely;
  • Diagnosing, prioritizing, and resolving IT incidents and service requests via the IT helpdesk;
  • Supporting users with Microsoft-based environments, including Windows 11, Office 365, and related applications;
  • Troubleshooting issues related to servers, Azure environments, and business applications, escalating when necessary;
  • Assisting users by explaining system functionality and guiding them through solutions in a clear and user-friendly way;
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, procedures, and user guides (including training materials with screenshots);
  • Monitoring recurring issues, identifying patterns, and contributing to long-term improvements and FAQs;
  • Supporting IT projects and gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills grow;
  • Providing out-of-hours support on a rota basis when required;
  • Performing other reasonable duties related to the role as requested by management.

Skills & Experience

  • MBO 4 or HBO level education in IT / Informatics or a related field.
  • 0–5 years of experience in a similar IT support or service desk role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including:
  • Windows 11
  • Office 365
  • Microsoft Server OS
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience working with or supporting remote desktop environments (RDS / AVD) is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch and comfortable communicating in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driving license (Category B)
